Jan Styles is a Dru Ayurveda Health Coach and yoga teacher.
She has been teaching weekly classes at Natural Fitness & Therapies for over ten years. Much of her her life has been spent on a fascinating journey of discovering the foundations of health and reducing the effects of stress. Jan believes that we can attain optimum health and inner peace through understanding this inter-relationship of the body-mind and emotions. Throughout her career as a therapist she has gained diplomas in many modalities including aromatherapy, Holistic Diagnosis Skills and Holistic Fertility Therapy through the British School of Yoga.
Dru yoga classes are inspired by the wisdom of Ayurveda which is known as the sister science of yoga. Ayurveda means‘ life knowledge ’and is thought to be the oldest system of healing, with its roots in ancient India. It is rapidly gaining popularity today as it helps to restore health naturally. Private one to
one yoga sessions with Jan may include yoga therapy for back care and the benefits of Ayurveda.
All therapy and coaching sessions will take into account any medical treatment that you are receiving as Jan has a great respect for conventional medicine through her earlier career in paediatric nursing. She has the experience to discern the degree to which Ayurveda and holistic therapies can be used to support medical care or if they can safely be used alone.
