Yoga was historically an exercise regime for men only and yet as we have adopted it in the west we have seen yoga as a physical exercise for flexible women. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sure- there are many flexible women (and men) who do yoga. Many of them have become flexible as a result of doing yoga. But yoga is a practice for everyone. It is a fantastic way of improving physical and mental health in one practice. It is a practice that unifies asana (the physical practice) with pranayama ( breath practice) to achieve a whole person's wellbeing.
